1. What this policy covers
SlateByte is an independent software studio operated as a sole proprietorship. In this policy, “we” and “us” refer to the operator of the SlateByte studio website.
This policy covers this informational studio website and messages sent through the contact form or to hello@slatebyte.co. FreeNotepad, Myapps.bio, Meonote, and Todoong have their own product experiences. Review the privacy information published by the relevant product before using its features.
2. Information involved
- Messages you send. The contact form asks for your name, email address, subject, and message. When sending is available, these details are transmitted for delivery to the studio’s inbox. If sending is unavailable, the form does not submit your message. If you email us directly, we receive your address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to include.
- Technical information. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times, and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
- Your theme preference. The website saves your light or dark choice in your browser’s local storage under
slatebyte-theme. The website does not send that stored preference to us as an analytics event.
The studio website does not provide its own account system, advertising trackers, or analytics scripts. This does not mean the hosting platform processes no information.
3. Hosting, fonts & other providers
Website hosting. The public website is hosted on Cloudflare. Its infrastructure may process technical request information to serve the website and protect it from abuse. Private preview versions may use a separate hosting platform, with its own access controls, cookies, and privacy practices.
Contact messages. We use Resend to deliver messages submitted through our contact form. Resend processes the information you provide for email delivery. See Resend’s Privacy Policy.
Fonts. Page typography is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google’s servers to request the font files, which makes your IP address available to Google. See Google’s explanation of font request privacy.
Email. Messages are handled through the email services used by you and by the studio. Those services apply their own terms and privacy practices. Providers may process information in locations other than your own.
Other websites. Product links and other external links take you to services with their own privacy practices.
4. How information is used & kept
Contact information and messages are used to reply to you, handle your request, maintain relevant business records, and meet applicable legal obligations. Service providers may handle information where needed to deliver hosting, fonts, email, or contact form messages. The website does not save contact form submissions in its own database; successfully delivered messages are handled in the studio’s email inbox. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.
We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and any applicable retention obligations. Hosting and other providers apply their own retention practices; this policy does not set a retention period on their behalf.
The theme preference stays in the browser until it is replaced or cleared. The studio website does not use that preference for advertising or visitor profiling.
5. Your choices & requests
You can change your theme using the footer toggle, or remove the saved preference by clearing this site’s browser storage. You can also choose what information to include in a contact form message or email.
Depending on applicable law and the information involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Send requests to hello@slatebyte.co. We may need enough information to verify the request and identify the relevant records.
Some information may need to be kept for legal reasons. Requests about a particular product should identify that product so they can be handled in the appropriate context.
6. Sensitive information & children
Please do not send passwords, encryption keys, payment card details, or private note contents through the contact form or by email. No method of internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
This studio website is intended to introduce our software and does not seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
7. Updates & contact
We may update this policy as the website or its providers change. The date at the top identifies the latest update. Material changes will be explained as required by applicable law.
For privacy questions or requests, write to hello@slatebyte.co or visit the Contact page.
